Today I have the opportunity to reconnect with Frank Dumont, MD. Frank is an old friend and colleague of mine, and has spent his career in Colorado, enriching the lives of patients both in the state and outside of it. Bringing his experiences as a musician, phsyicist, and physician to bear on complex issues ranging from sports physiology to diabetes reversal, Dr.Dumont has been a practicing physician working in internal medicine for over 20 years. In his current role as the Commercial Medical Director at Virta Health, he takes this ethos one step further, providing medical assessments, ongoing medical management, and safe medication titration for diabetic patients experiencing the rapid physiologic changes of ketoadaptation.
Frank is one of the most effective communicators I know. He excels at bridging the gap between the theoretical and the profoundly personal, and his ability to translate heady, conceptual ideas into something more approachable is both impressive and incredibly necessary today. I encourage listeners to listen to the back half of the episode regardless of your level of familiarity with metabolism or Type 2 Diabetes. I suspect just about everybody can benefit from Frank's unique and diverse knowledge set, and his amazing ability to distill it down to the most important points.
This is one of my favorite conversations I've had so far, and I'm not just saying that because Frank and I go way back.
