In today’s episode, I speak with Dr. Eric Bricker.
Dr. Bricker is a physician and internist who came to healthcare by an indirect route. As you’ll hear, Dr. Bricker began his career on the healthcare finance side of the business. As a result, he is one of the most knowledgeable physicians I’ve met about the business of healthcare. While still in residency at John’s Hopkins, he started a company called Compass Professional Health Services. The company, in the healthcare navigation space, grew to over 1.8 million members and 2,000 plus clients and sold to Alight Solutions in 2018. He is also the founder of Texas Family Insurance and currently serves as the Medical Director of Simple Pay Health and Coupe Health.
But I learned about Dr. Becker’s expertise through his role as Chief Medical Officer of AHealthcareZ where he puts out brief but insightful videos on healthcare finance with more than 100,000 monthly views on LinkedIn, YouTube and AhealthcareZ.com. Dr. Bricker is a passionate advocate for healthcare reform and the value of primary care.
